Gitane Olympic 1978 (Eroica Qualifying)
£1,749
Life on Wheels are proud to offer this iconic Gitane Olympic in exceptional condition. This rare Gitane Olympic Record was Gitane's top of the range model, built using Reynolds 531 (all tubes), Campagnolo dropouts and cable guides, it’s the same bike that Bernard Hinault rode to victory in the 1978 Tour de France. The frame has minimal scratches commensurate with its age but has to be considered in excellent condition. The Campagnolo Record groupset is so good it could almost be described as NOS; the bike is beautifully finished with a Cinelli “Unicanitor” leather saddle and bar tape. This is a rare 40-year-old bike in amazing condition and will make the new owner very happy, the bike is lightweight, responsive and beautifully built. Please feel free to come and view the bike, we are open Mon to Sat - 10am to 6pm.
